England's white-ball skipper Harry Brook Currently, despite the service of a two -year ban from the tournament, he has expressed his desire to return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the future. Brook was handed over the suspension after the Delhi capitals exiting the 2025 IPL season following an attractive signature.
During the IPL 2025 auction, Brooke was bought by the Delhi -based team for INR 6.25 crore. However, just before the tournament begins, he chose because of international duties with England. The exit violated the newly implemented rule of BCCI launched in September 2024, stating that if a player withdraws after being selected in the auction, they will be automatically banned for two sessions. Brooke became the first cricketer to fall under this rule. The 25 -year -old admitted that it was a difficult decision, but franchise got stuck with his decision to give priority to his country on cricket.
“It was an incredibly difficult decision. IPL is a wonderful tournament. It is a tough cricket, with the best players in the world. Crowds and atmosphere are amazing. It is the best franchise tournament in the world. I will prefer to play IPL in future, but for some time, England have been focused on.”

Despite remembering the IPL, the batsman has made good use of his time with the national side. He portrayed the England series against Zimbabwe and West Indies. His decision has also paid in the ongoing test series against India.
In the first test of the five -match series, Brooke scored a brilliant 99 in the first innings, which decreased by a century, but was playing an important role in England's victory. He failed to influence in the second innings. He also opened about the upcoming second test, which started in Birmingham from 02 July.
“Historically, Edgbaston Pitch may be flattering. It is probably more for spinners. Otherwise, it is usually a specific English pitch. If there is a spin – and I am fully guessing here – it will probably be late in three, four and five days,” Brook said.
