Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) head coach Andy Flower said that long -term breaks have been liked by his team Silver And Phil Salat, among other players, to recharge your battery and gear for the commercial end of the tournament.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) RCB's last game in 2025 was against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 3 May. His clash against Lucknow Super Giants was postponed after the tournament was suspended for a week. After resuming, he was designed to face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at home on 17 May. However, the match was washed without a ball. Bangalore -based franchise is set to return to action after 20 days, when they move to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Ekna Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Friday 23 May.
Flower stated that the break helped the Patidar overcome a hand injury, and salt to recover from his illness after going home for a brief time.
“We are not very worried about it. I think boys have really worked well throughout the season in the first match of the season, and they have played some great cricket throughout the season. Yes, now a little break, but for a couple of our players, for a couple, really a healthy thing. Pre-match press conference.
“Salt was ill for a while, so it has given him a little chance to go home. He has recharged his battery, and he has come back completely. Of course, everyone in the competition wanted all our fans to have the competition to be planned, but big things were in hand and we had to roll with it.”
Disappointed to play in disappointed Bangalore: Andy Flower
RCB had to bid farewell to his home ground – M Chinnaswamy Stadium – before his last domestic game was transferred to Lucknow due to adverse weather conditions. Flower said that the team would have preferred to play in front of the fans of the house for time this season, but he said that the unit would have to keep that idea behind and focus on work in hand.
“We are clearly disappointed that we are not playing tomorrow's game in Bangalore, but we have to roll with it. We trained in Bangalore at the time of lunch yesterday, then we flew here. We have another short training session tonight, and we will be ready to go tomorrow,” he said.
