IPL 2025 was suspended for a week due to increasing tension between the India and Pakistan border.
All ten franchise foreign players are already going back home. The top-order batsman said that if BCCI is unable to host the remaining fixtures in India or Sri Lanka, only the September window can be used. India will tour England for a five -match testing series which will start from June 20 and hence the remaining IPL There is a need to be completed as soon as possible.
“If it does not occur in India or Sri Lanka in a week's time, I think they will start in September. They have a large -scale testing chain against England in a few months, and the IPL will have to be finished before or after that; it is quite a headache for the organizers,” said David Mallan.
“I think they have to wait and see how the safety of the players and people of both countries play in terms of concerns,” the batsman said.
South Africa is not an option: Malan
The left -handed batsman insisted that the tournament should be held in India, UAE or Sri Lanka. The 37 -year -old admitted that South Africa could not be taken into consideration to host the league due to winter.
The England player said, “This is not the first time this happened to the IPL, not in the context of seriousness, which is going on between the two countries, but Kovid hit back in 2020/2021, and he transferred the IPL to the UAE's midway.”
“There are options that they have previously played in South Africa. In fact, if they have to start in a week, they will have to do it in India or the United Arab Emirates. South Africa will not be an option, given that it would be in winter,” he concluded.
