Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) may not have done the Indian Premier League (IPL) Trophy in its 18 -year journey, but remains one of the most popular teams in the tournament. He is known for his fan Aadhaar and mythological batting line-up. RCB has been in the headlines for both its outstanding performance and their poor collapse.
In 17 full sessions of the IPL, RCB has only terminated the league stage as table toppers, which came during the 2011 version. The team was led by Daniel Vettori and finished nine by 14 league matches by finishing the top of the table. In IPL history, RCB has been led by several major cricketers, including Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble, Kevin Pietersen, Daniel Vetori and FAF Do Plessis. However, the most prestigious captain for the franchise remains Indian legend Virat Kohli, who captained the side for almost a decade. The former Indian captain took the franchise in Bangalore to reach the playoffs on several occasions and came close to winning the title during IPL 2016.
In the 18th edition of the IPL, RCB has been led by Silver Patidar. The team has performed very well in the 2025 season and has already qualified for the playoffs. He scored 17 out of 12 matches and is probably on the verge of ending the top of the table. The last two league matches for RCB are against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 23 and Lucknow Super Giant (LSG) on 27 May. If RCB wins both games, they can finish first in the table of IPL 2025 points and get a significant benefit in the playoffs.
