In a serious gesture of solidarity and respect, the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI) paid tribute to the victims of terrorist attack in Pahgam during IPL match number 41 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
To honor those who lost their lives, after a formal announcement on the public address system, the 60-second silence was seen before the game began. This allowed both the in-stadium and broadcast audience to participate in the tribute. During the match, players, match officials, commentators and assistant employees wore black armbands as a mark of honor. The commentary team accepted these gestures on the air, which shows the emotional significance of tribute and the shared sorrow of the country.
The BCCI took a conscious decision to conduct the game without pomp. There were no cheerleader performance, festive fireworks, music, or DJ activities – ensuring a dignified environment that honored the severity of the opportunity.
The BCCI decided to let the evening go to the evening with general pomp and entertainment without any cheerleaders or fireworks. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia expressed grief over the tragic incident.
“The cricketing community is deeply shocked and suffering from the tragic loss of innocent life in a fierce terrorist attack in Pahalgam yesterday. From the BCCI, condemning this horrific and cowardly with the strongest possible words, I extend my heart's institution to incite and incite my heart institution.” The tragedy, “he said,” he said, “he said,” he said, “he said,” he said, “he said,” he said, “he said,” he said.
During the toss, the captains of both teams offered their condolences and strongly condemned the heinous act

Broadcasters were also directed to inform the audience about the importance and tragic event of black armbands. This is not the first time Indian cricket stands for national tragedies. In 2019, IPL estimated its inauguration ceremony after Pulwama's attack. The same year, the Indian team wore a camouflage cap to honor the falling soldiers during an ODI.
