BCCI Muling on transferring PBKS vs Mi Tie to Ahmedabad amidst India-Pakistan tension


Indian Premier League's upcoming match number 61 (IPL) 2025 matches between Punjab Kings (PBK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), which have been originally scheduled on 11 May in Dharmasala, have now been transferred to Ahmedabad due to alleged national security concerns.

Initially, the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Brabourne Stadium, and Die Patil Stadiums were Is considered a possible backup location. However, to maintain neutrality and either to avoid giving benefits of home to the franchise, the BCCI has chosen the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, in which Gujarat Cricket Association Secretary Anil Patel has confirmed development.

“Since the match was to be shifted to the last minute, the BCCI asked if we could host it, and we formally inform them that we are ready,” he quoted TOI.

Dharamasala is working as a second house site in Punjab Kings and is hosting three fixtures against Lucknow Super Veterans (May 3), Delhi Capital (May 8), and Mumbai Indians (May 11) now. PBKS Defeated LSG by 37 runs and started his Dharamasala leg, and is expected to play against DC at the same place, as both teams have reached the place. However, MI and PBK are expected to resume their travel plans through New Delhi before going to Ahmedabad.
