Indian opener KL Rahul Old Trafford became emotional while speaking about his daughter, Ivara during the fourth Test between England and India in Manchester. Rahul admitted that it was difficult to leave his family behind to join the National Squad for the High-Stec Test series.
Rahul and his wife, actress Athiya Shetty welcomed their daughter on March 24, 2025 during the IPL 2025 season. Before re -adding Delhi Capital (DC), the cricketer took a two -day break, and later visited England in early June for a five -match Test series.
Rahul shared that he had a difficult conversation with his family before leaving his newborn daughter and deciding to play for India A in warm-up matches before the main series.

She is a beautiful little girl. She has brought so much happiness in our life,” Rahul said to Cheteshwar Pujara on Sony Sports.
Rahul expressed his gratitude to his wife and his family for his unwavering support during the tour of England. He shared that he understood how important the series was for his professional career and stood by him through the emotional challenge of leaving his newborn daughter behind. The top-order batter, who scored 421 runs in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, with two centuries, admitted that it is very difficult to stay away from his daughter.
“I have done a little bit (father duties), but unfortunately, two days after he was born, I had to go to play IPL games.
