[WATCH] Lungi Ngidi returns to Delhi Capitals practice session after suffering head injury

lungi ngidi Delhi Capitals (DC) have returned to their practice session just days after suffering a head injury in their game against Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Saturday, April 25.

While trying to track back and make the catch, Ngidi lost his balance and fell headlong on the ground, resulting in him being taken to a nearby hospital in an ambulance. He was soon declared out of danger and stable, with the bowler himself giving a clarification in this regard on social media.

Ngidi was seen returning to DC's practice session today, April 30, as he was welcomed by David Miller and Kyle Jamieson. In a video shared by the Capitals on their social media, the 30-year-old was seen knocking down the stumps with his bowling, prompting a joyous celebration from the South African and his teammates watching at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Based on the above video, Ngidi can get match fit and donate DC Shirt very soon. This will be a big boost for the 2020 finalists, with talismanic bowler Mitchell Starc also returning to their squad for the rest of the IPL season.

Ngidi had a good time in the 2026 IPL before his serious injury. The right-arm fast bowler had taken seven wickets in as many matches. The management will now have to find a way to fit both him and Starc into their playing eleven as they look to make a late push towards the playoffs in the second half of the season.

As things stand, DC are currently placed seventh in the standings with just six points. They are currently on a three-match winless streak in the IPL, and desperately need a win to get their campaign back on track.
