Royal Challengers Bangalore Defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets to successfully defend their title in the 2026 Indian Premier League final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
With their win, they became the third team in IPL history after Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians to successfully defend their title. Bowling first, the defending champions restricted the Titans to 155 for 8 in 20 overs. Rasikh Salam Dar was the best bowler, taking three wickets for 27 runs in his four overs. He dismissed GT's openers, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan cheaply in the powerplay, which helped them set the stage early. Gill fell to Josh Hazlewood on 10, edging a single to captain Rajat Patidar at mid-off, while Sudarshan was dismissed by a bouncer from Bhuvneshwar Kumar, which went to keeper Jitesh Sharma, who completed the catch while running towards fine leg.
