Five-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champion Mumbai Indians Has released a special video to mark the arrival of his talisman Jasprit Bumrah in an epic video announcement.

The video refers to Bumrah as the 'Dhurandhar' of Mumbai Indians, and is stylized as a reference to the recently released famous Bollywood film. It also includes Bumrah's bowling partner Trent Boult. It was released just after the Indian fast bowler reached the camp.

After a lot of speculation about injuries, Jasprit Bumrah has rejoined the Mumbai Indians camp and is in contention for the IPL 2026 opener against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29 at the Wankhede Stadium. Head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed the development, saying that although Bumrah missed Friday's training session, he was back with the team on Saturday, just a day before the clash.

The leading fast bowler was recently focusing on strength and conditioning at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. The move was part of the workload management plan prepared by the board's medical team keeping in mind India's tour of England in July.

Despite battling a back injury in IPL 2025, boomrah Had an impressive campaign and finished as MI's second highest wicket-taker. He played an important role and took 18 wickets in 12 matches at an excellent economy of 6.67. He continued that form in international cricket as well and emerged as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Jayawardene confirms Mitchell Santner and Will Jacks still haven't joined MI

Meanwhile, MI will be without the services of Mitchell Santner and Will Jacks in the opening match. Jayawardene revealed that both players had requested extra time for personal reasons, a decision which the franchise has respected.

Jayawardene said, “Both Mitch and Jackie had asked for a slightly longer break for personal reasons and we were fine with that. They will be joining the team soon, but we are comfortable with the group we have currently.”

Historically, Mumbai Indians have struggled to start their campaigns strongly, not winning their first game since 2012. However, they boast an excellent record against KKR at the Wankhede, having won 10 of their 12 encounters at the venue, which will give them added confidence heading into the opening match of the season.
