Virat Kohli opens when being with RCB for the 18th straight season.


Virat Kohli opened the IPL to play for RCB for 18 straight sessions. Ahead of the 52nd match of IPL 2025 between RCB and CSK, a teaser of Virat's presence in RCB Podcast was released, where he spoke on the importance of being with the 3-time finalist despite not winning the title even once in the last 17 years.

In the teaser, Kohli claimed that every wish was fine until it was happening with RCB. Star player claimed that being with RCB was a part of his life, and he made the option to live with a franchise to find himself in a new setup. The RCB batsman claimed that he was not sure about the reception received in a new franchise.

“In the context of desires, everything is fine, but not (being with RCB). But never away. So, I thought, ok, what is the higher value for me today? Do I want to go to a new set-up and try to find out life again?

“I don't think any silver vessel or a trophy can come close to him” – Virat Kohli

The 36 -year -old claimed that it was important for him to give importance to the relationship and for a long time for his mutual respect with RCB. The former RCB captain considered love from fans to be bigger than any silverware or trophy.

“So, I thought, you know, for me, what is more valuable, relationship and mutual respect that has been created in so many years. The love I have received from fans, I don't think any silverware or any trophy can come close to him,” Kohli said.

A young Virat was selected by RCB at the IPL auction in 2008. Since then, no one has been seen back, as he has been the only player to play for the same franchise in all 18 seasons of the league.
