Seen talking to Virat Kohli Prince Yadav and Bharat Arun after the end of the IPL 2026 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants at the BRSABV Ekana Cricket Stadium on Thursday, May 7.
In a rain-interrupted 19-overs-per-side contest, Lucknow scored 209/3 in the first innings on the back of a brilliant century from Mitchell Marsh. Captain Rishabh Pant and Nicholas Pooran also made important contributions in taking their team to a huge score.
In reply, Mohammed Shami dismissed Jacob Bethel in the very first over. However, one of the highlights of the encounter came in the next over. Prince, who had been impressive throughout the season, chased an outswinger with a nipback that edged past Kohli before crossing the gap between bat and pad to dislodge the off-stump. This great batsman was out for zero on two balls. This was his first duck in the IPL since 2023.
The cracking delivery was bowled at a speed of 140.4 kilometers per hour. Prince will definitely remember this dismissal forever as he dismissed one of the best batsmen of all time and the highest run-scorer in IPL history. The right-arm fast bowler later dismissed Devdutt Padikkal and Jitesh Sharma and took 3 wickets for 33 runs in four overs.
“After the last match, I was talking to Virat bhaiya and all he told me was – as long as it's rotating at one length, stick to that length,” Prince said in a video posted by the IPL.
Lucknow eventually won the match by nine runs as Digvesh Singh Rathi successfully defended the 20 runs required by the visitors in the final over.
After the end of the match at Ekana on Thursday, Kohli was seen having a light conversation with Prince and LSG bowling coach Bharat Arun. The former India and RCB captain was seen laughing all around and also placed his hand on the 24-year-old fast bowler's shoulders and praised him for bowling brilliantly.
Prince is indeed in the race for the Purple Cap. In 10 matches, he has taken 16 wickets at an economy rate of 8.08. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Anshul Kamboj top the list with 17 wickets each in 10 matches.
