'Vaibhav Suryavanshi is pure magic'


Vaibhav Suryavanshi Played another breathtaking innings in the Eliminator of IPL (Indian Premier League) 2026 at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh on Wednesday, May 27.

After Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to field first for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), it was time for the Suryavanshi show. The left-handed batsman troubled the SRH bowlers with his brilliant stroke play. He hit one four and three sixes against Pat Cummins in the third over. Suryavanshi hit three more sixes in the next over and completed her half-century in 16 balls.

Suryavanshi was eventually out for 97 off 29 balls and missed Chris Gayle's record of the fastest century in the IPL.

Irfan Pathan praised Suryavanshi after the left-handed batsman played a tremendous innings on Wednesday. The Tajpur-born player took his number of sixes in IPL 2026 to 65, breaking the previous record of most sixes in a season. Pathan said that achieving this feat at the age of just 15 is an astonishing achievement.

It is unrealistic to become the player who has hit the most sixes in an IPL season at just 15 years of age. Something we have never seen before. Vaibhav Suryavanshi is pure magic.

Suryavanshi also reached the top of the list of highest run-scorers this season. In 15 innings, he has scored 680 runs at an average of 41.64 and strike rate of 242.86. He is 28 runs ahead of Sai Sudarshan, who is now second in the list.

On the basis of Suryavanshi's explosive innings, Rajasthan is preparing to score a huge score in the first innings. Dhruv Jurel also scored a half-century in 20 balls, making things worse for SRH.
