All-rounder Corbin Bosch explains the feeling inside the Mumbai Indians dressing room with the captain hardik pandya Has been battling back spasms, due to which he had to miss the last few matches of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. Bosch has said that he has confidence in the efforts being made by the MI medical staff.
Speaking ahead of the match against Punjab Kings, Bosch, who also made up for Hardik's absence in the playing eleven, further explained that the disappointing campaign for the franchise stemmed from the fact that the unit failed to deliver comprehensively. While the MI batsmen were seen doing exceptionally well with the job on day one, the bowling attack could not perform well, and vice versa.
“It's obviously difficult. Hardik is not only a leader but also a fantastic cricketer. We miss his presence when it comes to the field. I'm sure the people who are making decisions and the people who are looking after him are trying to do the best for him and the team,” Bosch said in the pre-match press conference.
The all-rounder said, “We have not put the entire game together. One day only the bowlers will perform well and the batsmen will have to struggle a bit.”
It is noteworthy that Hardik took part in an intense three-hour long practice session before the upcoming match, but was not allowed to travel to Dharamshala to face the Shreyas Iyer-led side. The game is scheduled to be played on Thursday, May 14, and while the team has joined the host city, Hardik has not traveled, as MI will continue to be led by the interim captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Notably, the Mumbai-based franchise has been knocked out of the playoff race, and will be looking to play for glory in their remaining fixtures in the league-stage campaign of the 2026 edition, with the aim of making a better comeback next season.
