Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) registered an easy win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Match No. 11 Indian Premier League 2026 on Sunday, April 5 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
After being invited to bat, RCB made a huge score of 250/3 in 20 overs. Virat Kohli gave a fast start to the innings, but could not convert it into a big score, falling for 28 runs. After this, Phil Salt and Devdutt Padikkal made a strong partnership of 56 runs for the second wicket, in which Salt scored 46 runs and Padikkal contributed 50 runs in 29 balls, which included five fours and two sixes.
Padikkal continued his excellent form and added 58 runs for the third wicket with captain Rajat Patidar. However, the real fireworks came in the death overs when Patidar and Tim David launched a ferocious attack and stitched a 99-run partnership in just 35 balls. Patidar remained unbeaten on 48, while David played an explosive inning of 70* off 25 balls, hitting eight sixes and three fours at a strike rate of 280.
In reply, CSK never gained momentum while chasing the target of 251 runs. Despite a half-century from Sarfaraz Khan, who scored 50 off 25 balls, the visitors kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually restricted to 207, giving RCB a 43-run win.
RCB's bowling unit put in a disciplined performance, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the attack with figures of 3/41. Jacob Duffy took 2 wickets for 58 runs, while Krunal Pandya took 2 wickets for 36 runs. A late 57-run partnership between Prashant Veer and Jamie Overton showed some resistance, but it was not enough to take CSK over the line.
