Statistics Review of player records and milestones achieved


Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) returned to winning ways after an impressive 33-run win over fellow playoff candidates Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 49 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday, May 6.

SRH batted first and scored 235 runs on the board with healthy contributions up and down the batting order. They got a great start thanks to their openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Ishan Kishan scored 55 while Heinrich Klaasen top-scored with 69 to ensure they crossed the 220-run mark. Nitish Kumar Reddy provided the finishing touch by scoring 29 runs at a strike-rate of 223.08.

In reply, PBKS had the worst start as they lost Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh and Shreyas Iyer within the powerplay. Australia's Cooper Connolly played a brilliant innings of 107 not out, the first in his T20 career, but he was their lone warrior for most of the time, getting no support from any other PBKS batsman.

As in all IPL matches this season, SRH vs. PBKS Several team records and individual achievements were also achieved. However, not all the records achieved are of positive nature, with PBKS spinner Yuzvendra Chahal holding an unwanted record in this year's tournament.
