Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Indian Premier League (IPL) returned to winning ways after a comprehensive 103-run win over arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 33 of 2026.
MI captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and put CSK in to bat. The visitors scored 207 runs on the board from their quota of 20 overs, mainly due to Sanju Samson's unbeaten 101. The right-handed batsman scored 16 runs in the final over, registering his second century in the IPL this season.
In response, MI It was a night to forget as they were bundled out for just 104 runs in 19 overs. Their innings had a very bad start, they lost Danish Malevar, Quinton de Kock and Naman Dheer in quick succession, leaving them with only 11 runs for 3 wickets. CSK's spinners dominated the opposition, not only taking timely wickets but also putting a halt to the scoring. Akil Hosein was the star with the ball, taking 4 for 17 from his four overs, while Noor Ahmed took two wickets.
