Sri Lanka 1 for 166 (Kusal Mendis 68*, Kusal Perera 55*) Beat West indies 162 for 8 (Powell 37, Moti 32, Thekshana 2-19) by nine wickets
The West Indies had previously performed well to deliver themselves to 162, although they attacked Gudkesh thick on a large scale-they scored 32 runs for 15 runs-which was probably a high-to-front score on the spin-friendly track.
Although Dunith went to Vellege Run, the remaining Sri Lankan spinners placed a lid on the scoring. It was also a significant difference between the teams.
Kusal Mendis went to register the highest score of the game, not out of 50 out of 50. Perera scored 55 runs after scoring 36 runs.
2–1 results are another sign of revival from Sri Lanka, in the format in which they have certainly struggled the most in the last two years. He has won five Test matches this year, and also defeated India in a bilateral ODI series in July. This victory also shows an increase in stock of new coach Sanath Jaisuria.
Sri Lanka attacked quickly
The West Indies enhanced their spin ettack by bringing Fabian Alan on the side for the match, but Nisanka ensured that the Sri Lankan batsmen established their dominance quickly. He exploded three fours from the first over, bowled by Allen, before launching Seemar Alzari Joseph for two sixes and a four overs – runs around the ground, although he favored offside in favor of the square area. Consolidated Kusal Mendis and Perera, then faster
The early middle overs were already calm.
