captain of gujarat titans Shubman Gill Created a stunning moment on the field during match number 66 of the 2026 Indian Premier League against Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 21.
This brilliant catch came during CSK's 11th over when Rashid Khan was brought into the attack. Shivam Dubey was batting aggressively and had already scored 47 runs in 16 balls, with his clean hitting threatening to take the game away from GT.
On the third ball of the over, Rashid bowled a googly outside the off stump, forcing Dubey to play aggressive shots. However, the batsman failed to time the ball properly and the ball hit the end of the bat. The ball bounced over the extra-cover area, where Gill showed exceptional awareness and athleticism. The GT captain sprinted backwards, kept his eyes firmly on the ball and completed a sensational diving catch with both hands to send Dubey back to the pavilion.
Gill's celebration immediately attracted attention as he put a finger on his lips to signal to the CSK supporters to remain silent. He then gestured animatedly to the crowd, adding extra intensity to the high-pressure contest.
Earlier in the match, Gujarat Titans had made a huge score of 229/4 in 20 overs. Sai Sudarshan scored a brilliant 84 runs in 53 balls with the help of seven fours and four sixes. Gill contributed 64 runs with the help of seven fours and three sixes in 37 balls, while Jos Buttler finalized the innings by scoring unbeaten 57 runs with the help of five fours and four sixes in just 27 balls.
A convincing win would strengthen GT's chances of topping the points table, while CSK needed a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
