Shreyas Iyer Arguably one of the best fielders in world cricket. On Thursday, April 16, he provided another example of his exemplary athleticism at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in a high-voltage encounter against Mumbai Indians.
In the 18th over of the first innings, Marco Jensen bowled an off-speed ball to Hardik Pandya. The Baroda all-rounder went for a big shot, but the ball did not reach the end of the bat. It looked like the maximum score would still be decided, but Shreyas intervened. The PBKS captain jumped sideways after running to his left from long-on and caught the ball in the reverse cup. He was in the air when he took the catch.
However, he realized he was falling on the ropes and immediately, he threw the ball back to Xavier Bartlett, who caught it comfortably. Shreyas' effort ended Hardik's innings of 14 runs off 12 balls, leaving the MI dugout stunned.
