sanju samson He scored his second century in the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) after hitting a four on the last ball of the first innings during Chennai Super Kings (CSK)'s game against arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium.
Samson, who came to bat as an opener with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, batted the entire 20 overs and scored an unbeaten 101 runs in just 54 balls, an innings which included 10 fours and six sixes.
Batting on 85 after 19 overs, Samson faced Chris Bhagat and completed his fifth IPL century by scoring 16 runs in the last six balls. The wicketkeeper-batsman hit two sixes off the first and fourth balls of the 20th over, before pulling a short ball to the deep square leg boundary to reach triple figures.
Several MI players came to congratulate Samson, including India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. The 31-year-old has now scored two centuries in his first seven matches Chennai Super Kings Shirt. His first century for his new team came against Delhi Capitals, where he scored an unbeaten 115 to help his team win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
