Pakistan’s results remain poor, last year in the T20 World Cup, a group was exposed to exiting the stage in which he lost to the USA. This has inspired a wholesale change in the team, with many new faces, and, importantly, the absence of some older people.
The major of them are Rizwan and Babur, whose batting at the top of their order has widely seen a root cause for the old, risky batting attitude of Pakistan. While the door is not permanently closed on them in the format, it is clear that they have been dropped, not resting.
“This is an honor for me and a challenge,” Aga said at a press conference in Lahore. “We have brought some youths in the team who are playing the brand of cricket in domestic cricket, which we want to play in the national side.
“We have to focus on our intentions and approach. We have to improve it. These things are important in cricket in modern days. It is a young team and we want to play fearless cricket. It is high -risk cricket, which is a need in modern cricket. That perspective will have failures, but we have to support our players.”
The PCB said that they have monitored the Asia Cup (in T20 format) later this year and the World Cup in India and Sri Lanka next year. He has remembered a player for the project for the project, Shadab Khan as the vice-captain for the project.
AAQIB, which is also the major selection, remains in those positions for a series of five T20I and three ODIs against New Zealand, although there has been speculation about a new coach. In particular, when asked about Babur and Rizwan’s fate, he explicitly connected his dropping with the style of playing, hoping to adopt Pakistan.
“You cannot exclude anyone forever, but at the moment we feel that we need to bring new, young players and change the style of cricket. [of the personnel] apart.”
The missing Afridi and Haris Rauf from the ODI squad combine the spirit of axes with large names, and AAQIB was clear that they would have to go back to domestic cricket to improve their game.
He said, “Top players like Babur, Shaheen, Ridge, they travel a lot, they don’t have time to play their domestic cricket,” he said. “Now they have time to play domestic cricket. You will not improve the test or ODI until you play four-day cricket. It may not be that you play 70% T20 cricket throughout the year and then suddenly you do tests or ODIs.
“The players themselves will have to think about it because they are eventually responsible for their own game. You cannot force the players … The players do not have the responsibility to think about their game and where is it going? That I should sacrifice and take a break from T20 and should take four-day or play a list so that I can return my form?”
Both Aga and Aakib talked about developing a pool of 20-25 players for Pakistan to work in the next 18 months. Both also insisted that it would be equally important to support them through failures.
Aakib accepted the instability that has surrounded Pakistan cricket in the last few years, of which he is a beneficiary for now.
“We have replaced about 16 coaches and 26 selectors in the last two years,” he said. “You put that formula on any team in the world, I think they will also be in the same position. Until you find stability from top to bottom, your team will not progress from the chairman to bottom from the chairman.”
