Former captain of Lucknow Super Giants Rishabh Pant Kuldeep Yadav is set to return to Delhi Capitals (DC), while Kuldeep Yadav will join Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after one of the most significant player trades in recent IPL history.
Pant returned to the franchise where he spent nine seasons between 2016 and 2024, making 111 appearances – the most by any player for DC. One of the defining faces of the franchise for almost a decade, he also captained the team in 43 matches across four seasons from 2021 to 2024.
In the IPL 2025 player auction, Pant was bought by LSG for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore – the highest winning bid in IPL history. Following the trade, he will re-join DC for a revised fee of Rs 15 crore.
Kuldeep Joins LSG after a highly successful stint with Delhi Capitals for five seasons. Since arriving at the franchise in 2022, the left-arm wrist spinner has taken 72 wickets in 65 matches and has established himself as one of the most effective wicket-takers in the tournament.
Kuldeep, one of India's leading white-ball bowlers, will join LSG for his current fee of Rs 13.50 crore.

Both Pant and Kuldeep have had subpar seasons by their lofty standards. The wicketkeeper-batsman scored 312 runs at an average of 28.36 and a strike rate of 138.05. His form, coupled with LSG's last place in the standings, rocked the boat for management, resulting in a trade just weeks after the conclusion of the 2026 season.
On the other hand, Kuldeep also had a bad season and could take only 10 wickets in 12 matches. His economy of 10.29 was the highest in his IPL career since making his debut for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2016. He will now play at the Ekana International Stadium, which is known for slow pace, which may help his bowling style a lot more than the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the capital city.
