RCB gets green signal to host matches at Chinnaswamy

This is a very positive sign for Royal Challengers Bangalore fans, as the franchise will now be seen playing its home matches of the upcoming 2026 season at one of the most iconic cricket venues in the country. An official confirmation regarding this matter is expected from the defending champions of the marquee T20 tournament soon.

“We are happy to inform you that the Home Department of the Government of Karnataka has granted permission to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) to host international and IPL matches at the prestigious M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru,” a KSCA release said.

“The permission is subject to compliance with the specific terms and conditions stipulated by the government and concerned authorities. KSCA is confident of fulfilling all the stipulated conditions. The association has already submitted a detailed compliance roadmap before the Expert Review Committee and is fully committed to implementing all safety, security and crowd-management measures in letter and spirit,” the release further said.

For those unaware, the Chinnaswamy Stadium was suspended from hosting any high-profile matches after the massive stampede incident that took place on June 4 following the victory celebration parade by RCB at the venue after winning their maiden IPL title in 2025.
