RCB director Bangalore wants franchise to honor the victims of Stamped

The festivals honoring the historic first IPL title of Royal Challengers Bangalore were converted into a terrible tragedy, in which eleven people lost their lives and the prestigious M of Bangalore. More than 50 were injured in a stampede outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Months after the incident, RCB cricket director Mo Bobat has asked the franchise to honor the victims and remain an integral part of the team's legacy.

The incident on June 4, thousands of fans gathered outside the Chinnaswamy Stadium to celebrate the victory of the first IPL title of RCB. The crowd was higher than the ability of the stadium, and due to the collapse of obstacles and no effective mob control, 11 innocent people died and dozens were injured as a result of a stampede. RCB immediately announced compensation of INR 10 lakh for each victim's family and launched the “RCB Care” fund to provide medical and financial assistance to the injured.

“Cricket and IPL is a lot about passion and joy, and one of our biggest motivators is our fan. We talked during the competition that we want to win it for our fans. They are patients. Some of us are new.

RCB, event partners, KSCA attributed to Stamped

Stamped also launched a government investigation led by Justice John Michael D'Suna. The Commission declared Chinnaswamy Stadium fundamentally insecure to host large -scale programs. Its design, adequate entry and lack of exit points, poor emergency vigilance, and absence of appropriate public access systems were quoted as all serious security risks.

The report blamed the RCB, its event partners, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) for mismanagement, while recommending disciplinary action against several officials.

As a direct result, the stadium was left as a site for the upcoming ICC Women's ODI World Cup 2025. The matches, including the semi -finals and potential finals, will now be hosted at Die Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.
