Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first against Chennai Super Kings Match 44 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
A key moment of the match came when -Anshul Kamboj Will Jacques was dismissed thanks to a brilliant catch by debutant Ramakrishna Ghosh at deep backward point in the second over of the game. Jacques tried to slog a fuller delivery across the line from outside the off-stump, but only managed to get the edge.
The edge flew backwards, where Ghosh, positioned on the boundary rope, had to complete the catch with a spectacular forward dive. It was a big moment in the game as Jack had played a brilliant innings for MI in his last game at the top of the order, scoring 46 off 22 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The all-rounder then took a brilliant catch for his first wicket and dismissed India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who tried to hit a ball on the off side but was caught by Dewald Brevis at deep point, resulting in the visitors' third wicket falling.
