Ramakrishna Ghosh's brilliant diving catch in his debut match

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first against Chennai Super Kings Match 44 of the 2026 Indian Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

A key moment of the match came when -Anshul Kamboj Will Jacques was dismissed thanks to a brilliant catch by debutant Ramakrishna Ghosh at deep backward point in the second over of the game. Jacques tried to slog a fuller delivery across the line from outside the off-stump, but only managed to get the edge.

The edge flew backwards, where Ghosh, positioned on the boundary rope, had to complete the catch with a spectacular forward dive. It was a big moment in the game as Jack had played a brilliant innings for MI in his last game at the top of the order, scoring 46 off 22 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The all-rounder then took a brilliant catch for his first wicket and dismissed India T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who tried to hit a ball on the off side but was caught by Dewald Brevis at deep point, resulting in the visitors' third wicket falling.
