great indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar posted an emotional message on social media in support of his son Arjun, following his performance with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Match 68 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Despite LSG ending the campaign with another defeat, Arjun performed well with the ball. The left-arm pacer bowled four overs for 36 runs, while taking the crucial wicket of Prabhsimran Singh, who was batting on 69, with a brilliant yorker. He also scored five runs at the end of the first innings.
The 26-year-old's debut for the Lucknow-based franchise caught the attention of many, and Sachin took to social media to praise his son. The former Indian batsman was proud of Arjun's efforts on the field and advised him to stay grounded while working even harder to hone his skills.
“Very good, Arjun. Proud of the way you carried yourself this season, always believing in your ability, staying patient, quietly working hard and staying positive despite waiting for your chance until the last match. Cricket tests skill as well as patience and you handled both beautifully today. Keep your feet on the ground and keep loving the game as always. Sachin Tendulkar said on X (formerly Twitter), I love you always.
Well done, Arjun. ❤️

It is noteworthy that the match against PBKS was Arjun's first IPL game as he played a solitary match for Mumbai Indians (MI) during the 2024 season. Overall, the left-handed batsman has made five appearances for MI across two seasons, including four appearances in 2023, where he took three wickets.
Meanwhile, LSG showed some fight towards the end of the 2026 IPL season, but it was too late. Rishabh Pant's team is set to finish at the bottom of the standings with just four wins from 14 matches.
