Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 30 runs in the 69th match of 2026 Indian Premier League at the Wankhede Stadium on May 24 to seal their place in the playoffs.
Batting first, Rajasthan Royals scored 205/8 runs in 20 overs. Dhruv Jurel played a steady inning of 38 runs from 26 balls, while Jofra Archer provided late momentum with 32 runs from 15 balls. Deepak Chahar and Shardul Thakur took two wickets each for Mumbai Indians.
In reply, despite Suryakumar Yadav's 60 runs in 42 balls, Mumbai Indians were restricted to 175/9 runs in 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals' bowling attack was led by Jofra Archer, who bowled an excellent spell of 3/17. Nandre Berger claimed 2/43, while Brijesh Sharma (2/26) and Yash Raj Punja (2/44) also took two wickets each.
With this win, Rajasthan Royals reached the playoffs and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator on May 27 at the Maharaja Yadvendra Singh International Cricket Stadium.

Jofra Archer put up one of the most lethal bowling performances of the season to put Mumbai Indians under immense pressure during the chase. The RR pacer finished with excellent figures of 3/17 from four overs at an economy rate of 4.20. Archer broke the backbone of Mumbai's batting by dismissing Rohit Sharma, Naman Dheer and Hardik Pandya.
Suryakumar Yadav fights alone
Despite regular fall of wickets, Suryakumar Yadav showed resistance for Mumbai Indians in the run chase. After struggling for consistency during the 2026 IPL season, the star batsman found some rhythm in his team's final league-stage match. Suryakumar scored 60 runs in 42 balls at a strike rate of 142.86, which included three fours and four sixes. However, his effort was not enough to lead Mumbai Indians to victory.
