The biggest rivalry of the IPL will be on March 23, 2025, as Chennai Super Kings (CSK) MA takes the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Chidambaram Stadium. Both franchisees, tied to every five IPL titles, are looking forward to disappointingly disappointing of the 2024 season, where neither the team created the playoffs.
For years, fans were happy to see MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma leading their teams. However, IPL 2024 captured Ruturaj Gikwar and Hardik Pandya captaincy. While the CSK narrowly missed the playoffs, Mi had a forgetable season, which ended under the table.
Hardik, who has faced India's criticism of fans of MI in the previous season, won him back after leading India to the T20 World Cup and Champions Trophy victory. However, he will recall the season opener from 2024 due to an over-per suspension, in which Suryakumar Yadav was set to lead the team. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is unavailable till April, forcing him to change his bowling attack.
CSK will be playing in your home, Chepack, where spin will be a major factor. The squad has experienced spinners like Ravindra Jadeja and Ravi Ashwin with young Noor Ahmed. In particular, MI has struggled in season openers as they have not won their first match since 2012.
