KKR had a poor start to the season, losing five of their first six matches of the campaign and remaining firmly at the bottom of the points table. However, after a four-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals, the Kolkata-based franchise won five of their next seven matches, giving them an outside chance of qualifying for the playoffs by the last day of the group stage.
Despite their turnaround in the second half of the season, KKR have a lot to consider ahead of the 2027 season, with massive changes expected to take place between now and the start of the new campaign. Having last won the championship in 2024, the Knight Riders would like to return as title contenders as soon as possible.

3. Sign a designated wicketkeeper in the mini-auction
Despite being considered one of KKR's brightest talents with the bat, it is safe to say that Angkrish Raghuvanshi He is not a complete wicketkeeper and is just a temporary option behind the stumps. The 21-year-old took five catches and made one stumping in the 2026 IPL season and did not look confident in doing so.
So the Knight Riders should commit to buying a great wicketkeeper during the upcoming mini auction to have a safe pair of hands behind the wicket. It is noteworthy that the team has a regular wicketkeeper in the form of Tim Seifert.
However, the New Zealand international is not the first-choice playing XI and his inclusion in the squad could hamper KKR's team structure. The team should either find a proven Indian wicketkeeper or a foreign option who will come into the team, like they had with Phil Salt in 2024.
