On Saturday, April 25, Shashank Singh once again became the victim of a fielding error during the clash between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. In the third over of the innings, KL Rahul After Axar Patel won the toss and decided to bowl first, Shashank was given a chance in regulation off the bowling of Arshdeep Singh. However, the 34-year-old failed to hold on.
Rahul is such a good batsman that when he gets relief, he cannot afford to miss, especially on the small grounds and belter of tracks in Delhi. The 34-year-old scored a century in 47 balls, much to the delight of the home fans.
He achieved this feat by hitting a straight drive on the long-off boundary. The long-off fielder dived to his right, but was well timed to block his path.
Take a look at the video below:
Rahul ultimately remained unbeaten after scoring 152 runs in 67 balls with the help of 16 fours and nine sixes. He got good support from Nitish Rana, who scored 91 runs in 44 balls with the help of 11 fours and four sixes. Capitals scored a huge score of 264/2 in 20 overs in the first innings.
