Sunil Narine will once again lead the bowling line-up of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). This is going to be a season where the Knights will try to save themselves after finishing eighth last season.
Ajinkya Rahane has once again been given the command of the team. This time he will face a big challenge of disruption in the bowling department due to injuries and inexperience. Harshit Rana, who has been with the KKR setup for the last few years, has been ruled out of the tournament. Mathisha Pathirana will also miss the first few matches after suffering a hamstring injury during the T20 World Cup last month.
However, KKR still have some excellent bowlers who can cause problems even for the better batting units in the competition.

3. Mathisha Pathirana
Mathisha Pathirana is reportedly going to miss the first few games, but will soon join the three-time champions. Thankfully his injury is not as serious as it seemed. Pathirana was signed by KKR for Rs 18 crore.
The Sri Lankan seamer is known for his ability to bowl accurate yorkers at fast pace. His slower ball is also quite deceptive, especially due to his slinging action.
2. Varun Chakraborty
Varun Chakravarthy has been in great form in the last two seasons of the IPL. He has been among those who have taken wickets by dodging some of the best batsmen in world cricket with his mystery spin.
However, the Tamil Nadu spinner was not at his best during the IPL. Although he finished as the joint-highest wicket-taker in the tournament, he ended up scoring a lot of runs. It seemed that Chakravarthy was bowling too many googlies and he did not see any change in his pace. KKR fans will hope that he will perform well in the IPL.
