Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowler Kartik Tyagi took the ultimate revenge after demolishing Sanju Samson's stumps at home against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Match 22 of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday, April 14.
Starting the 12th over, Tyagi was bowling to the in-form Samson, who was coming into the game on the back of his maiden century for CSK. The right-handed batsman hit a powerful six on the first ball of the over, which caught the slow ball completely.
However, Tyagi will get the last laugh. The next ball was pitched up and bowled fast and straight, which completely baffled Samson, who dropped his stumps. The ball which overpowered the opening batsman was bowled at a speed of 148.1 kmph.
Samson was performing really well, but was eventually out after scoring 48 runs off just 32 balls. Meanwhile, Tyagi will not stop here. Yet another change in pace got the better of fast bowler Dewald Brewis, who was not able to take the slower ball, who missed hitting the ball to short third man.
Tyagi is currently playing his first season for KKR. Earlier he had taken three wickets in three innings.
