Jitesh Sharma names his best wicketkeepers of all time, picks two from India [Exclusive]

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Jitesh SharmaComing off the back of an Indian Premier League 2025 title-winning campaign with Royal Challengers Bangalore, he recently shared his list of the greatest wicketkeepers of all time. The 32-year-old named five cricketers, including Adam Gilchrist, MS Dhoni, Wriddhiman Saha, Mark Boucher and Andy Flower, among the two Indians who have got a place.

Jitesh played a key role in RCB's championship-winning IPL 2025 campaign, making several cameos and scoring a brilliant 85 off 33 balls against Lucknow Super Giants in the chase of 227. His ability to dominate the bowling attack in pressure situations strengthened RCB's middle order, leading to his retention ahead of the next season. He continued that momentum in domestic cricket as well, scoring 75 runs at a strike rate of over 220 for his new state, Baroda, in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26.

During an exclusive chat with CricTracker, when Jitesh was asked to name his best wicketkeepers of all time, he chose players from different eras. His first choice was former Australian Adam Gilchrist, who remains Australia's record holder for wicket-keeping in Tests (416) and ODIs (472).

His next choice was none other than the great MS Dhoni, who holds the record for most stumpings (123) in ODIs and most dismissals (91) in T20Is, making him the most successful Indian keeper across all formats. The other Indian on the list is Wriddhiman Saha known for his glovework. Notably, Saha holds the Indian record for dismissing the most number of players (10) in a Test match and is one of the top Indian players to dismiss more than 100 Test players. South Africa's Mark Boucher is also included in Jitesh's list.

The former player holds the records for most international dismissals (998) and most catches (952) by a wicketkeeper. Finally, he was overtaken by Zimbabwean legend Andy Flower to complete the list, who is remembered not only for dismissing over 300 international players but also for being the only wicketkeeper to average over 50 in Test cricket.
