He will play no further role in the competition as the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has agreed with RCB that the talented youngster will return to the United Kingdom.
Bethel's injury will be assessed and closely monitored by the England medical team following his return to the United Kingdom as a decision is taken regarding his selection in the Three Lions squad for the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's starting on Thursday, June 4.
Both RCB and ECB confirmed the development through their social media handles. The latter wished the batting all-rounder a speedy recovery.
