Mitchell Starc Enhanced his reputation as one of the finest fielders among fast bowlers by taking a brilliant catch at long-on to dismiss Manish Pandey at the Eden Gardens on Sunday, May 24. Delhi Capitals (DC) were in desperate need of a wicket at that time, and it came thanks to some exemplary fielding from Starc.
When Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) were chasing a target of 204 runs in the final league game of the season, Manish Pandey and Ajinkya Rahane looked in good touch as they stitched a 44-run partnership off 25 balls for the second wicket.
However, on the third ball of the eighth over bowled by Lungi Ngidi, Pandey went down the wicket to loft it to wide long-on. Starc moved sharply to his right and dived in front to take a brilliant catch that stunned even Pandey, who has taken a few blinders this season.
