Rajasthan Royals suffered a huge blow after a bizarre mix-up during Match 69 of IPL 2026 against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium. Dhruv Jurel And Dasun Shanaka was run out at the crucial stage of the innings. This also included two mistakes made by the MI fielders.
The incident occurred on the third ball of the 11th over when Corbyn Bosch bowled a back-of-a-length delivery which Jurel guided behind point. Looking for a quick single, Jurel initially called out Shanaka, and the Sri Lankan all-rounder responded immediately. However, midway through the run, Jurel changed his mind and sent Shanaka back, leaving both batsmen stranded at the striker's end.
Although Shardul Thakur stumbled while collecting the ball, he soon recovered and threw towards Bosch. The MI pacer also failed to gather well early on, but managed to regain control in time to dislodge the stumps, and catch Shanaka well past his crease.
The dismissal proved costly for RR as Shanaka was out after scoring 29 runs in just 15 balls including three sixes.
