The Karnataka State Cricket Association has issued a detailed clarification following reports related to alleged CCTV issues at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Indian Premier League The (IPL) 2026 match will take place between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Monday, April 27.
Addressing the speculation, the association said the matter was entirely an internal dispute involving private vendors and had no connection with the stadium's official security system. According to KSCA, the CCTV cameras in question were installed by private vendors for their internal operational use and are not part of the surveillance infrastructure used by police and security personnel at the venue.
The statement further emphasized that the police department operates a completely separate and independent security network at the venue, which remains fully functional and unaffected. It was also clarified that the issue arose due to a payment disagreement between a vendor and its employees, with all related server rooms and technical systems being privately managed.
“The issue was identified and resolved before the stadium gates opened and public entry began. At no time did this incident result in any safety lapse, operational disruption or life-threatening situation. There was no element of sabotage impacting the safety of spectators, players or officials,” the KSCA statement said.
Importantly, KSCA confirmed that the situation had been resolved before the stadium opened to the public. The association reiterated that there were no security lapses, no disruption to match-day operations, and no threat to the safety of players, officials or spectators. Dismissing the concerns, KSCA said the venue's security infrastructure remains strong and uncompromised.
