An unusual moment unfolded during Match No. 67 of IPL 2026 between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on May 22. Players, commentators and fans were disappointed at the start of the competition due to a long delay caused by a technical problem during a detailed review.
The incident happened on the fifth ball of the match when SRH captain pat cummins Wide full length ball to Venkatesh Iyer, who was opening the innings for RCB. While attempting to play the ball, Iyer moved a lot towards the leg side but failed to make contact. The on-field umpire ruled the ball valid, forcing RCB to opt for a review despite the ball appearing comfortably inside the guidelines for wide.

The third umpire took several minutes before beginning replay analysis, resulting in a stoppage of approximately five minutes. During the delay, the RCB batsmen used the opportunity to take an unscheduled mini drinks break in between overs.
