Former player of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) Ravichandran Ashwin Teammate Anshul Kamboj was reportedly taunted in a light-hearted manner before the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) match at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 10. Kamboj has been the highest wicket-taker for Chennai so far in IPL 2026.
Earlier in the day in Chennai, the swearing-in ceremony of the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium. During the program, newly appointed CM C. Joseph Vijay was giving his address when one of the security personnel standing behind him had a resemblance to Kamboj. Ashwin humorously pointed this out while commenting on the situation.

Kamboj has been in impressive form in IPL 2026, taking 17 wickets in 10 matches at an economy rate of 8.91 and an average of 18.70. Chennai Super Kings have also shown recent form, winning five of their last seven matches and are currently placed sixth on the points table. Building on the momentum from two consecutive wins, the five-time champions will look to achieve their sixth win of the season.
Lucknow Super Giants, on the other hand, took confidence after a close nine-run win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in their previous match. However, the Rishabh Pant-led side remains at the bottom of the standings with three wins and seven losses, making this fixture crucial to keeping their playoff hopes alive.
In the head-to-head record, Lucknow has a slight edge over Chennai, having won three of their six encounters. This advantage can boost their confidence in this encounter, both teams will be aiming for a crucial win to strengthen their chances of progressing in the tournament.
