Here are the highlights of Match 48:
CSK bowlers surprised DC in the beginning
CSK bowlers stifled the DC batting lineup early in the innings, ensuring that the hosts were never able to gain momentum during the powerplay. Crucial successes at the top allowed CSK to tighten their grip on the game. Akeal Hosein dealt the first blow by dismissing KL Rahul, while Mukesh Choudhary dismissed Pathum Nissanka soon after. In the middle overs, Noor Ahmed further reduced DC's progress by dismissing Nitish Rana and Karun Nair cheaply.
Stubbs-Rizvi shows late fireworks
After early wobbles, Tristan Stubbs and Sameer Rizvi carried the innings for Delhi Capitals with a restrained but impressive partnership. Stubbs scored 38 runs in 31 balls, while Rizvi remained unbeaten on 40 runs in 24 balls. The duo changed gears in the latter stages, combining for six maximums and guiding DC to a competitive total after early setbacks.
CSK chased the target easily
After restricting DC to a modest score, CSK made light work of the chase and reached the target comfortably. Sanju Samson led the way with a fluent unbeaten half-century, scoring at an impressive strike rate of 167.31. He got solid support from Karthik Sharma, who remained unbeaten on 41 off 31 balls and calmly led the innings. Their tight partnership ensured that CSK secured their fifth win of the season without any delay.
