Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered one of their worst campaigns in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, finishing bottom of the points table for the first time in the history of the tournament. The five-time champions will be keen to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season and rebuild a team capable of challenging for the title once again.
Ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction to be held on December 16, CSK has already made a big move by purchasing Sanju Samson from Rajasthan Royals (RR). with Ruturaj GaikwadWith Ayush Mhatre, Samson and Urvil Patel forming the top order, CSK look well established at the top. However, other departments still need strengthening to create a balanced and competitive unit.
Here are CSK's possible targets for middle-order, spinners and fast bowlers in IPL 2026 auction

CSK currently have Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dubey in the middle-order, but lack of experience remains a matter of concern. To address this, the franchise can target proven overseas all-rounders like liam livingstone and Michael Bracewell in the mini-auction.
Livingstone has scored over 1,000 IPL runs representing multiple franchises and is known for his explosive power-hitting, which will complement Brewis perfectly. Meanwhile, Bracewell, who played briefly for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2023, has since gained significant international experience. He can fill the void left by Ravindra Jadeja, who was traded to RR along with Sam Curran, offering balance with both bat and ball.
