Rajasthan Royals (RR) entered Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season with a young and promising team. Despite being one of the youngest teams in the competition, they had an impressive campaign and finished fourth in the league stage. RR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the eliminator before their journey ended with a defeat against Gujarat Titans (GT) in Qualifier 2. Although the franchise made many decisions right throughout the season, there were some players who could have been utilized more effectively.
Here are three under-utilized players by Rajasthan Royals:
Dasun Shanaka

sri lankan allrounder Dasun Shanaka There is a player who did not get a consistent opportunity to showcase his full potential. Shanaka scored 63 runs in seven matches and took just one wicket. Most of his chances to bat came in the final overs of the innings, leaving him little time to settle in and make an impact.
He is known for his ability to accelerate against both pace and spin and could be promoted higher up the batting order in some matches. By giving more time at the crease, he may get a chance to play match deciding innings. Also, RR could have used their medium pace bowling more often, especially on surfaces that favored fast bowlers.
