Bumrah has played all his IPL cricket for MI, began in 2013 and took 165 wickets in 133 matches in the last few years. The only IPL season he missed because he started playing in 2023, when he had a back injury.
In the MI Squad, as Trent Bault, Deepak Char, Rece Topley and Corbin Bosch (Replacement for Lizad Williams) as other frontline Quick, Captain Hardik Pandya, all -rounder and unaccounted Ashwani Kumar, Satyanarayana Raju, Arjun Tendulkar and Rajan Angad Baws are the form of other frontline kuik. Bumrah's absence may force the reconsideration of MI's bowling plans, as Bault and Charr are primarily powerplay bowlers, leaving him less than a perfect T20 experience in death.
The first two IPL 2025 fixtures of Mi are away. He starts his campaign in Chennai against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on 23 March and then plays Gujarat Titans (GT) in Ahmedabad on 29 March. The first home match of MI is two days later when they host Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on 31 March. They play two matches in the first week of April. Bengaluru (RCB) on 7 April.
