Rajasthan Royals (RR) batsman Nitish rana The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been excluded from the remaining part of 2025 due to injury. The franchise has planted the South African wicket-keeper-lhan-Dre Pretorius as his replacement for the final two matches of his campaign.
Royals, which are already out of the playoff race, have been a great season. Rana's exit has added its crises as the team looks at Chennai Super Kings on May 12 and on 16 May to save some pride in their remaining league stage fixtures against Punjab Kings.
31 -year -old Southpow showed Royals in 11 matches this season, scoring 217 runs at a strike rate of 161.94. He noted two half-century, including the highest score of 81. Rana struggled with fitness towards the latter part of the season, Stand-in Captain Ryan Parag pointed to the first player's injury when he was released out of the squad against Kolkata Knight Riders.
South African Lhuan-DRE Pretorius signed as a replacement
Meanwhile, RR has moved to a 19-year-old Lhuan-Dere Pretorius from his sister Franchise Parl Royals' SA20 League. Left -arm inaugural batsman and wicketkeeper, Pretorious, has been one of the most promising young talents in South Africa. In particular, he will join the royals for his base value of INR 30 lakhs.

Pritorius caught the eyeball with 97 runs during the SA20 2025, stitched the 132 -run partnership with the route. He finished as the top run-scorer of the tournament, scoring 397 runs in 12 innings at a strike rate of 166.8. Near the 33 T20, he has scored 911 runs, with top 97 scores.
Youngster also has an impressive domestic career, including 114 to win the CSA 4-Day series final, and was the leading run-scorer of South Africa in the 2024 U-19 World Cup. Many Rajasthan are struggling as batsmen, the South African batsman may get a chance to play XI in the upcoming game.
