A dye-hard Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Fanbase of Belgavi, Karnataka has requested the Chief Minister of the state Siddaramaiah that if the team manages to raise its first Indian Premier League (IPL) Trophy this year, declare a public holiday across the state. The handwritten letter went viral after winning the impressive eight wickets of RCB on Punjab Kings (PBK) in Qualifier 1, which gave him a direct entry into the IPL 2025 finals, which will be played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
Apart from one day holiday, fans, Shivanand Mallannavar, have also urged the government to formally celebrate the opportunity as “Festival of RCB fans”, which proposes statewide ceremonies equivalent to the Karnataka Rajyaotsav on the day of a celebration in the region.
He also recommended that RCB Victory Day, if this happens, is remembered and celebrated every year, which makes it an annual honor for fans who have remained loyal through the ups and downs of the franchise over the years.

In the game, the team demolished Punjab Kings in a unilateral competition in New Chandigarh. RCB bowlers finished PBK for only 101 runs in just 14.1 overs. Josh Hazelwood and Suyash Sharma were the bowlers picks with one -three wickets, while Yash Dayal and Bhuvneshwar Kumar also chose.
To win and bowl the toss, RCB started its talent from the beginning, and Dayal rejected Priyash Arya in the second over. Bhubaneswar then removed Prabhasimran Singh, and Hazelwood chose PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer's important wicket. Punjab could never recover from the collapse, and Suyash's double strike ended all his hopes in the match.
Chasing a small target, RCB made the run chase easier. Despite losing Virat Kohli early for Kyle Jaimison, English opener Phil Salat scored 56 off 27 balls. His innings, with six fours and three sixes, the RCB was ensured to reach the target in just 10 overs. Rajat Patidar finished the game with six from Mushir Khan. This is RCB's first IPL last appearance in nine years. He had earlier reached the finals in 2009, 2011 and 2016, but the trophy never came towards him.
