Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra On 8 April, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have expressed concern about the Fragile batting lineup against Punjab Kings (PBK) ahead of their IPL 2025 Clash.
Chopra reported that while the top-order has shown some improvement, the middle and lower order batting order is a major concern for the five-time champion. He especially highlighted that Ravindra Jadeja is batting too much in the lineup, which could prove to be expensive, especially when the top order fails to give.
“It seems that they have a lot of shortcomings. How do you live?
“If you look at Jadeja at number 6, it is at least one or two numbers for Jaddu. If we are cruelly honest, then Jadeja's important T20 knock, I am not talking about the cameo, have not been in the middle and some. If the Jaddu is coming to number 6, if your batting is very weak, especially if you are not your batting.”
The left-handed all-rounder has scored 76 runs in four innings in four innings in the ongoing IPL 2025 season at a strike rate of 122.58.

The cricketer expressed doubts about the possibility of CSK's improvement to the commentator and questioned the continuous inclusion of Ravichandran Ashwin in the playing XI. He suggested that young batsman Sheikh Rashid, who has been with the squad for some time, should be given an opportunity.
“Unfortunately, I am not looking at things from here. It was said somewhere whether Ashwin should be played because he was not effective and Sheikh Rashid should be given a chance as he has placed them in the team for a long time. I don't know the answer,” Chopra said.
