Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has chosen the English all-rounder liam livingstone As a player who needs to be kept an eye on for Sunrisers Hyderabad he needs to prove his potential amid the high price pressure around him.
Due to his poor form, Livingstone was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore after his successful season. He was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad in the auction for Rs 13 crore. Chopra said the IPL is an ideal platform for him to showcase his talent and justify the high price tag.
Chopra said on his YouTube channel, “I'm thinking of Liam Livingstone. He was talking about the lack of communication in the England setup, and not getting the same kind of feedback and messages, and all that. He's been sold for a lot of money, but to be honest, the figures are a bit inflated because he hasn't done anything like that in the last two or three years to get that much money.”
He said, “If it wasn't an issue of supply and demand he wouldn't have got that much money, but now that he's there, he'll get a chance to play, a chance to do something different. Liam Livingstone, this is your chance.”
Opportunity for Abhishek, Kishan
Chopra also believes this season is an opportunity Abhishek Sharma And Ishaan Kishan. Abhishek is coming after a disappointing World Cup campaign, where despite India winning the trophy, his returns were very low. Kishan, on the other hand, has been handed the captaincy of the franchise in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is still recovering from a groin strain and will miss the initial rounds of the IPL.
He said, “This is an opportunity for Abhishek Sharma to score 600-700 runs in the season. Ishan Kishan should make such a big captaincy that you want to follow him, whether Pat Cummins is there or not.”
Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their first match of IPL 2026 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 28 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
