sanju samson In a social media video shared by the franchise, he has told how he feels while wearing the Chennai Super Kings jersey. Samson was recently traded from Rajasthan Royals to CSK ahead of the IPL 2026 auction.
The wicketkeeper-batsman told how excited he was to wear the CSK jersey. He also mentioned that the bright colors made him feel different from the darker kits worn in previous editions of the IPL.
In the video, Samson said, “I was waiting for this day and I am very lucky that I am going to wear the yellow jersey. As I said, I always wear dark colors like black, blue, brown, but yellow, of course, it feels great to wear that jersey. To be honest, I never thought how I would feel wearing the CSK jersey. I felt very positive and happy, felt very different. There is a different energy when wearing that jersey. I felt like a champion, I was like 'Okay wow!'.”

The five-time IPL champions spent Rs 18 crore to bring Samson on board. This deal was done in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, both of whom moved to RR for Rs 14 crore and Rs 2.4 crore respectively. This ended Samson's eleven long season stint with RR. Except for the two seasons in which he was banned, he was an integral part of the franchise.
Samson had asked the RR management for the move over the past few months, a development that had surprised many in the cricket world.
