Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) They have moved one leg into the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) playoffs after securing a win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Raipur on Wednesday, May 13. The defending champions secured a six-wicket win over their opponents after Virat Kohli's unbeaten 105 off 60 balls.
According to Star Sports, RCB now have a 92.6 percent chance of finishing the league stage in the top four. This makes them one of the favorites to finish in the top two, giving the teams two chances to make it to the final on May 31 in Ahmedabad.
It is noteworthy that despite the win against Knight Riders, RCB does not have the highest qualification percentage. That honor goes to Gujarat Titans (GT), who have a qualification chance of 94.8 per cent after five consecutive wins. The 2022 champions are currently level with RCB at second place with 16 points from 12 matches. However, Rajat Patidar's team has a much better net run rate.
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are next with qualification chances of 64.7 and 62.8 per cent respectively. The Kings are being considered one of the four favorites to make it to the latter stages of the tournament despite four consecutive defeats recently. However, they still have 13 points with three matches remaining.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) were the pace-setting team in the initial season, but their form has declined since then. The 2008 champions have 12 points from 11 matches and are currently sixth in the standings with two consecutive losses. They trail Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in both the points table and qualification chances with 40.6 per cent, while the five-time champions trail with 41.7.
As things stand, Delhi Capitals and KKR still have a mathematical chance to qualify for the playoffs, but would require an absolute miracle to do so. The chances of both sides finishing in the top four are only 1.0 and 1.8 percent.
